Dr. Teresa Combs, Ph.D., APRN, BC
LIVING AND GROWING FOUNDER & THERAPIST

Dr. Teresa Combs is a Family Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with over 20 years of experience serving the Washington, DC region. She earned her Ph. D. from The Catholic University of America and a Post-Master’s Certification as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner from the University of Maryland.
Dr. Combs treats families, children, adolescents and geriatric populations while supporting community mental health interventions with workshops and training. Recently, her work has focused on supporting students with social emotional and behavioral problems among school aged youth.
Her career in mental health began at Yale University’s Department of Psychiatry, where she conducted research and provided care for individuals with chronic mental illness and substance use disorders. She later joined the faculty at Howard University’s Division of Nursing,
contributing to national research on environmental health and mental wellness in under-resourced communities.
A former ANA/SAMHSA Minority Fellow, Dr. Combs participated in the Carter Center’s working group that informed the Child and Adolescent Mental Health section of the Affordable Care Act.
In 2018, she founded Living and Growing Mental Health Wellness Clinic in Silver Spring, Maryland, reflecting her belief that emotional wellness has many paths and that, through life, we all choose whether to grow, remain still or regress.

Therapist
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Will Turley is dedicated to providing individual therapy to clients. Will has experience working in a variety of settings, including school-based, clinical, and mobile treatment therapy with adolescents, transitional age youth, and adults.
