Weberlyn Dossen, LMSW

Licensed Master Social Worker

Therapy is about investing in yourself and trying to achieve your authentic self. My aim is to end the stigma of mental and emotional health and make it a priority. We are not just treating “mental health” we are treating trauma responses, coping mechanisms, and subconscious programming. I want you to feel heard, understood, loved, and accepted.

I am a Black Liberian-American woman born in Washington D.C. and raised in Gaithersburg, MD. I love to cycle, dance, drink tea, travel, make plant-based recipes, and watch old episodes of Hey Arnold, Martin, and The Office. I graduated from Bryn Mawr Graduate School of Social Work where I spent two years working with individuals, adolescents, and families in North Philadelphia in an Integrated Primary Care Setting and the Philadelphia Family Court System.

I have worked with a wide range of individuals including adolescents, couples, families, expecting mothers, and immigrants. My areas of expertise include acute trauma, adjustment disorder, women’s health, depression, anxiety, grief, PTSD with or without psychotic features, substance use disorder, intuitive eating/physical fitness, & truancy. I primarily utilize a Psychodynamic approach with mindfulness practices, cognitive behavioral therapy, and solution-focused therapy.

Life is about healing and learning how to love and accept ourselves. It will not always be sunshine or daisies! This will be uncomfortable on some days, but trust the journey, give yourself grace, time, and most of all patience. I hope you can grow and learn with me as we embark on this journey together.
